A belt is a sentence, and this page is the vocabulary

Factory Kit’s conveyors are a grammar: a plain belt, bars, a fence, a high belt, stripes, a corner, a cross, a T-junction, a long run made of an end and a middle, and the same ideas again with sides. Thirty-eight of them are here, plus one conveyor from Platformer Kit that will look like a cartoon of the others if you snap it into the line. The machines those belts feed, and the pipes, are not named conveyor. They are on the machine page and in the factory collection.

The template is the factory sim. The pleasure, as in Infinifactory or any belt game after it, is watching one item travel a route you can read. There is no factory landing page on this site. The nearest is the tycoon page, and the genre guide files the factory sim under simulation. Do not start from the city builder: those sheds are a skyline, and a skyline does not move a box.

Change the route before you change the stripe. One straight, one corner and one T, with a box on the belt, tells you whether the line reads. A room of every variant tells you that Kenney was thorough. Stripes and bars are how two lines stay distinct when they cross, and they are useless until two lines exist. The long belt is built from an end piece and a middle piece. Placing only the middle leaves a belt that starts in mid-air.

Ask Flockbay, in the factory-sim template, to run a straight conveyor into a corner and then into a T, with a crate on the first belt and the striped variants left out. Press Play and follow the crate with your eyes. If it stops at the join, the end piece is missing or the belts do not meet. That is the sentence to send back. Kenney released the kit as CC0. The rest of the alphabet of fences and high belts is for the second line, after the first one moves.
