Getting started
Install on Windows
Flockbay for Windows is a code-signed installer you download from flockbay.com and run. It installs for your user account only, so it does not ask for an administrator.
For the game itself, see the AI game maker.
Installing
- Open flockbay.com and press Download Flockbay. You do not need an account to download it.
- Run the installer when it finishes downloading.
- If your PC does not already have Microsoft’s WebView2 runtime, the installer fetches and installs it for you. Most Windows 11 machines already have it.
- Open Flockbay when the installer finishes.
Why the download is large
Flockbay ships with its own copy of the Godot engine, pinned to an exact version. That is what your game runs on, and it is why there is nothing else for you to install.
It is also most of the size of the download.
Updates
Flockbay checks for a newer build once, shortly after it opens, and offers it to you in the app. Downloading, verifying and installing happen there, and the app relaunches itself to finish.
There is no background polling. The app menu carries a "Check for updates…" item if you want to look between launches.
The Mac and Windows builds carry different version numbers, because they are separate release lanes. Windows is released first: Windows 2.0 builds on your own Claude plan in the app and hosts the full Godot editor, and the Mac build does not yet.
