Getting started
Your account
Downloading Flockbay needs no account. Opening it, making a world, Play, and the builder do not either. A free account signs you in to build with the AI, connect your own agent, and publish; your AI connects in Connectors, from the Flockbay menu.
For the game itself, see the free AI game maker.
What the account is actually for
A free Flockbay account signs you in. Building with Flockbay, connecting your own agent, and publishing to Steam use it. It costs nothing. A plan, if you pick one, is on the same account.
Opening Flockbay, making or opening a world, Play, and the builder do not. Those live on your computer.
When you send without an account, the app says so instead of failing silently: on the first screen a card says "Sign in to continue" and takes you to your browser; in a chat the composer says "Create a free account to send."
Signing in
Sign-in happens in your browser rather than in the app window, at the moment you send to Flockbay — or when you publish, or connect an outside agent. Flockbay opens a secure tab, you sign in there, and the app receives the session. The credential is stored in your operating system’s own keychain, not in a file the app invented.
Sessions can expire. When one does the app says "Session expired — sign in again. Local projects are untouched," which is exactly true: nothing on disk depends on being signed in. You can still Play and use the builder.
Connecting your AI
Flockbay is free on your own AI: your Claude or ChatGPT plan, another agent over MCP, or your own API key. You connect it in Connectors, from the Flockbay menu. The rows are Claude ("Runs Claude Code, Anthropic’s coding agent, on your Claude Pro or Max plan."), ChatGPT ("Builds on your ChatGPT subscription.") and "Another agent (MCP)". More ways, under them, holds your own API key and Flockbay plans.
An API key is kept in your operating system’s keychain and is never shown back in full. A connected key reads "Connected · ••••" and its last four characters.
Connecting also fills the model menu in the composer with what your connected AI can run. Flockbay builds from a library of ready-made objects, or with Godot's own shapes.
A provider key set in your machine’s environment outranks the sign-in. The account screen says so plainly when that is happening, because otherwise every turn would be billed somewhere you did not choose.
