The damaged track is a second game, already in the kit

Train Kit’s railroad pieces are a full snap-together line: large and small corners, curves, straights, bends, bumps, hills that begin and end, a skew to the left and to the right, and the rail profile that sits on them. Then the same list again with “damaged” in the name. Fifty-four models, all from that one pack. The locomotives and the wagons are not here. Their names start with train, so they are on the train page. A track with no engine is a route. An engine with no track is a statue in a yard.

There is no train template on this site. The brief a railway tycoon actually matches is the tycoon, and the public page is the tycoon landing. The genre guide files that under simulation. Do not borrow the arcade racer and call the asphalt a railway. The whole Train Kit, engines included, sits in the vehicle collection because the pack is tagged train. The skate rails are a different word and a different sport.

Choose intact or damaged before you lay a mile of it. The damaged set is a ruin, a storm, a line the player has to rebuild. Mixed with the clean set at random, it looks like the kit failed to load. The first layout that teaches you anything is a straight, a hill and a corner that returns, long enough that a locomotive has somewhere to go. A pile of skew pieces is a junction you have not designed.

Ask Flockbay, from the tycoon template, to lay a closed loop of clean railroad straights and one corner, and to set a locomotive from the train page on it, with every damaged piece left in the pack. Press Play and watch the engine take the corner. If it floats above the rails or falls between them, the locomotive and the track do not share a gauge in the scene, and that is the correction to ask for. Kenney’s kit is CC0.
