The grids do not snap to each other

Tile, tiles, modular, level, platformer, hexagon and cave are the tags, so 3D Road Tiles, Platformer Kit, Minigolf Kit, Racing Kit, Modular Buildings, Hexagon Kit, Modular Cave Kit, Modular Space Kit and Modular Dungeon Kit all qualify. That is asphalt by the number, a platformer’s blocks, putting surfaces, race roads, building pieces, hexes, caves, space rooms and dungeon corridors. Nine grids. They share a philosophy — you snap pieces into a level — and they do not share a module size. A dungeon corridor jammed against a hex tile leaves a gap the player falls through, and the gap is not a bug in the mesh.

A 3D platformer wants Platformer Kit’s blocks. A dungeon crawler wants Modular Dungeon Kit. A city builder might want Modular Buildings, but the streets it wants are in the city collection, not this grid. The landing pages are the platformer and the dungeon crawler. The genre guide lists platformers and dungeons under different genres. The numbered roads have their own page, roads. The hex buildings that are named building are on the building page.

What to change first is the grid, meaning you pick one kit and you do not “just borrow a corner” from another. Platformer blocks want a jump. Measure the jump, then place the next block where the jump lands. Dungeon corridors want a walk and a door. Hexes want a hex. The minigolf and racing pieces are sports surfaces that matched the word tile, and they are a distraction if you are building a dungeon. Roads with no preview stills have to be learned by placing a run of them, which is a reason to do that in its own scene.

From the 3D platformer template, ask Flockbay to build a short run of Platformer Kit blocks with one gap the player can jump, and to leave the dungeon, the hexes, the cave and the road tiles out. Jump the gap in Play. If you cannot, the gap is wrong or the blocks are from a kit with a different step, and you say what you landed on. Kenney’s kits are CC0. The dungeon gets the crawler template, on its own grid, with its own doors.
