Flockbay vs Ziva: an agent inside Godot, or Godot inside an app

By Eduardo Orellana ·
Both Flockbay and Ziva put AI to work on Godot projects. Ziva lives inside the Godot editor, for people who use Godot. Flockbay puts Godot inside an app, for people who would rather not open the editor at all.
What Ziva is
Ziva is an AI agent that runs inside the Godot editor, version 4.2 and up, on Windows, macOS and Linux. It inspects your project, edits scenes and scripts, writes GDScript and C#, reads editor errors, and can generate sprites and 3D models.
It has Hobby, Basic, Pro and Ultra plans. The Hobby plan includes $3 of AI use a month with no card; the other prices are not stated on the pages read.

What Flockbay is
Flockbay is a desktop app for Windows or Mac with Godot 4.7.2 inside. You describe the game, the AI asks questions and writes a brief, and after you approve it builds the game with its world tools and GDScript.
You never have to open the Godot editor, though you can.
Where Ziva is the better pick
If you already use Godot and want an agent in the editor you know, Ziva fits your existing workflow. It supports C# as well as GDScript, and Linux.
Where Flockbay is the better pick
If you have never used Godot and do not want to learn its editor, Flockbay keeps you in one app with a chat, a Play button and hand tools for the world. The brief step also pushes back on scope before anything is built.
What both leave you with
A Godot project on your own disk. Neither locks you into a format, so you can switch later.
Trying both on the same idea
Take one small idea, a room with a door that opens when three switches are pressed. In Ziva, open Godot, create the project, and ask the agent to build it. In Flockbay, describe it, answer the questions and approve the brief.
Then make two changes in each. You will learn quickly whether you prefer working in the Godot editor or away from it, which is the real difference between the two.
Because both leave a Godot project on disk, the one you do not choose is not wasted.
The deciding question
Do you want to learn Godot? If yes, Ziva is a good companion. If you want the game without learning the engine, Flockbay.
