What the template starts with
The Roguelike deckbuilder template starts with ten cards, a three-fight map and one card reward after each fight.
A small deck, a map of fights, a card reward, and a wipe when you lose. Slay the Spire (Mega Crit, 2019) defined the map. Monster Train (Shiny Shoe, 2020) moved it onto floors. You are not tending a constructed deck between sessions. Ten cards, three fights, one add. 2D. Poker hands are the Balatro style. This one can be any cards, as long as the map kills your run.
What to change first
Lose a run and confirm the deck is gone except for what you explicitly kept. If last run's bomb is still in the pile, you built a campaign. The AI deckbuilder maker is the reward. The wipe is the style.
