Endless runner template
There is no flag. Canabalt (Semi Secret Software, 2009) is one button and a roof. Temple Run (Imangi Studios, 2011) adds lanes. Speed rises until a mistake ends the run, then you start poorer than the moment you died. The AI endless runner maker is this deletion of the goal. The AI platformer maker is the jump it still uses.

What makes an endless runner
Endless runner: you run forward forever and dodge what comes, chasing a longer run.
The games that set the standard are Temple Run (Imangi Studios, 2011), Subway Surfers (Kiloo and SYBO, 2012) and Canabalt (Semi Secret Software, 2009).
What the template starts with
The endless runner template starts with one lane, one obstacle type and a speed that grows. That is the smallest version of the loop that defines the genre: run, dodge, grow faster, fail, retry.
What to change first
Run until the speed kills a player who was doing fine ten seconds ago. If an expert can continue forever, the speed is a costume. A coin trail will not supply the ending.
