What the template starts with
The Hollow Knight style template starts with three rooms, a bench that saves, a nail attack with knockback and one locked path.
You buy the map from someone, and it fills in when you rest, not when you walk. Hollow Knight (Team Cherry, 2017) also drops your money on death and asks you to beat the shade that is holding it. That is the Dark Souls idea in a side view, plus a bench. Three rooms and one locked path. Stay in 2D. A dash that only refreshes on landing, with no lock, is the Celeste style instead.
What to change first
